I am an independent SAT & ACT specialist who works directly with every student — in person for students who live in Central NJ and Bucks County, PA, and online for students nationwide, particularly the DC Metro area.

I’ve spent the last 26 years learning everything I can about test design, learning theory, curriculum generation, and instruction to develop a deep understanding of standardized tests and an effective framework for helping students improve their performance. I’ve worked directly with over 1,000 students, earned multiple perfect SAT scores, and developed a proprietary curriculum. I started my career as a Premier Tutor for The Princeton Review, and have since 2011 worked for myself independently.

My ideal student is someone who does well in school but is unable to achieve commensurate success on standardized tests. I know how frustrating it can be to be in this situation and get a lot of gratification helping students understand how to leverage their abilities and excel on the test.

The simple fact is that standardized tests measure a very specific way of thinking that is only partially aligned with how schools measure performance. If the student has content mastery issues, I address those — I have a Master’s in Education and provide targeted academic remediation when necessary — but I often find the bigger issue is a student’s lack of a repeatable, reliable way of interpreting and responding to test items. These issues are often layered on top of problems with time management, careless mistakes, common misconceptions, and test anxiety. My value is determining the exact ratio of these issues and designing a custom learning plan for each student.

I value close relationships with college admissions consultants because we work together to create a complete, coherent application profile. I’ll handle test preparation and test timing and keep you updated throughout the process. I also regularly work with students and families who need guidance on admissions and prefer to guide them toward experts whose judgment I trust.
